I have posted the results of my research for the benefit of others seeking information about their ancestors and/or my approach to such matters. All the material, except those from archives, is copyrighted by either Eliane Herz-Fischler or Roger Herz-Fischler; see the back of the title pages. Commercial use is strictly forbidden. See also the possible restrictions on the use of archival material.

A Triple Love Story /
The Ancestors of Eliane Herz and Roger Fischler

Because each chapter discusses a different group the individual chapters are presented here. A list of all the ancestors discussed in the book can be found in the preliminary part.

Preliminary material, including the preface, introduction, maps, sources, a list of ancestors and a study of the origin of the names of the ancestors.
Common Ancestors This chapter discusses the Marz-Katzenstein family of Frankenau and Frankenberg, as well as their ancestors.
The Haiger Group This chapter discusses the paternal ancestors of Eliane's father.
The Hilchenbach Group This chapter discusses the paternal ancestors of Roger's mother.
The Heinebach Group This chapter discusses the maternal ancestors of Roger's mother.
The Leipzig Group This chapter discusses Roger's paternal ancestors.
Selma Holländer and Freddy Furcht Selma Holländer was the sister of Roger's mother and spent the war years in the U.K.. Her husband Freddy Furcht fled from Nazi Germany to Shanghai just before the outbreak of WWII.

Letters from Europe: 1937-1944

Letters and postcards from four different groups, sent before and during WWII. Of all the writers only one survived; not all stories have a happy ending.
